Why I Love New Orleans: The Melting Pot
When I was asked to write this article, answering the question, "Why do you love New Orleans," I was so excited as I do, in fact, have a profound love for this city. Although I am rather young, I can see how great New Orleans truly is, and my appreciation runs deep. The music, the food, the art, the people, all combine to make this unique and incredible atmosphere. We're also very diverse. This is why we're known as a melting pot. We all come together in one amazing city. I believe that we're also a melting pot in the way that the many features of our culture, come together making New Orleans what it is. So, why do I love New Orleans? Well, for starters, I love the food. it seems as though there are endless amounts of restaurants here. But there's so much more! I love the streetcars, the shotgun houses, the Mardi Gras beads hanging in the trees, the Jazz music, the year- round fairs and festivals, all of the local art our city has, the people, the energy and the list goes on. I especially love how everyone here takes pride in and appreciates our city. There is always something going on. So, I can't simply pick just one thing I love about New Orleans because what makes New Orleans what it is, is all the aspects that come together to create our big, loving melting pot.
